Patent applicant envisions PDA with “removable cellphone”

November 21st, 2007 by Jimmie

Sure, it’s fair game to cram extra features into PDAs, but stuffing a “removable cellphone” into a personal digital assistant’s hidden compartment isn’t likely to go over well in this millennium.

iRobot’s New Bots Clean Your Pool, Bring You Mai Tais

November 21st, 2007 by Jimmie

iRobot’s new pool-cleaning bots make me wish I had a pool. Both the Verro 300 and Verro 600 can vacuum up leaves, algae, and bacteria from your pool, but what makes them extra cool is that they can do all of this while underwater, and they can also scale your pool’s walls and steps. (It’s worth checking out the video on the website).

RIM BlackBerry 8800 Hands On

November 21st, 2007 by Jimmie

I gotta say—it’s a huge improvement over the Pearl. (I was never a fan of SureType). The full QWERTY keyboard is big and easy to use (especially if you have big paws like me). There’s also a QVGA display, a microSD slot, and though it’s wider than the Pearl, I kinda like the extra junk in the trunk.

Can You Fear Me Now: The cell phone goes from annoying to evil.

November 21st, 2007 by Jimmie

“In your right hand, you hold the source of all the evil in the world. A few days ago, it was the source of some medium-sized evil—a stray ring in a movie theater or a mournful text message to an ex-girlfriend after midnight. But things have changed with your cell phone. It is no longer just a nuisance. It is death incarnate.”

XM Doesn’t Care?

November 21st, 2007 by Jimmie

XM’s site states that they support OSX for online streams. Yet, they don’t. My experience with them took me a bit by surprise. I figured they’d want to be of help but, as you’ll see, that wasn’t the case. I want to state up front that this is my article on my host space/site. I have no interest in “plugging” my site (there’s nothing there).
